Pumpkin Porridge

A few simple steps and this easy breakfast is ready to be served. To make it healthier, replace sugar with a teaspoon of honey.

  • 800 g pumpkin, cut
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. Peel and cut the pumpkin, place in a saucepan, pour in enough water to cover and cook for 15 minutes. Add the milk, rice and cook over medium heat and let it cook until the pumpkin is pureed and rice is tender, about 30 minutes.
  2. Add the sugar and salt and stir to combine. Adjust the thickness to your desire. Add water or more milk as needed. Mash the mixture well. Ladle into serving bowls, add a piece of butter into each and serve warm.
  3. Perfect to serve for breakfast.
