I’ve been sent the following link a few dozen times over the last few days – and I have to admit I haven’t managed to try it out yet but it looks like a pretty neat idea!
I’ll give it a go later in the week, as I have a few terracotta pots kicking about and some tea lights. The only downside I can see to this is that if you don’t have four terracotta pots and a roasting tin and a bag of tea lights handy, then you would have to go and buy them. A quick Internet search shows that Poundland have the 20cm size for, well, £1 each. They usually sell baking trays as well, and most large supermarkets sell value bags of 100 tea lights quite cheaply.
So for a little over a fiver, you could heat a room, 25 times if a bag of tea lights is anything to go by… (Assuming you use four each time!)
Anyway, I’ll give it a go this week because I will be working from home a lot, and wooden floors and large windows make for a quite cold work space! I’ll report back and let you know, but in the meantime the link is here…
All the usual safety precautions apply, like don’t leave candles unattended, and don’t put them directly onto a wooden surface, and don’t touch the terracotta pots because they will be very hot…
Give it a go and let me know how you get on – I’d be interested to know.
(And just because it makes me giggle, here’s the original four candles…)
